Ezra Taft Benson
The late Ezra Taft Benson was Secretary of Agriculture during the Eisenhower presidency. He loved his country and its republican form of government and was a fervent opposer of Communism and Socialism. Met Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev and said he was the most evil man he ever met. Later he became the thirteenth President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was fitting he died May 30, 1994, Memorial Day, as he always was a defender of freedom.
